The University of California-Davis

UC Davis is piloting a mixed-methods study of Lecturers with Potential Security of Employment (LPSOE’s) and Lecturers with Security of Employment (LSOE’s) across campus. The purpose of this study is to improve student outcomes and working conditions for LPSOE’s by identifying faculty impact in the classroom and among peers, as well as resources that could enhance those impacts. This study may include semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis, surveys, classroom observations, focus groups, and analysis of syllabi and other documents. Ultimately this research aims to better explore the model of teaching faculty as hubs of expertise and agents of change, particularly in course redesign and transformation.
